FRI Summer School

We have developed a series of workshops aimed at elementary and high school students, designed to spark interest in various aspects of computer science and technology.

Our first workshops focused on developing simple Android mobile games and more advanced 3D games using Unity. Over time, we have expanded our offerings to include new and exciting topics. These now feature Minecraft Education Edition workshops, where students build their own virtual worlds, developing their creativity, problem-solving and programming skills. We have also introduced LEGO Spike Prime robotics workshops where younger students can design and program robots, gaining a deeper understanding of engineering principles and teamwork. In addition, our VR game development workshops offer older students the opportunity to create their own virtual reality games for the Meta Oculus Quest VR sets, introducing them to the latest VR technologies.

With these workshops, we aim to inspire the next generation of developers and engineers by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to explore and create using the latest technological innovations.

These workshops are a regular feature of the FRI Summer School at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences and the summer school at St. Stanislav's Institution.
