In cooperation with an industrial partner, we developed a video player that enhances the video image, so that it is more easily perceived by the visually impaired and blind users. To that purpose, we developed a set of real-time video filters that make use of the GPU (if available) to process Full-HD video in real time. We also developed the front-end video player interface, which can be controlled via a regular TV remote. The system is currently undergoing field trials.
