Recently we have finished the project Slovenia from blocks, where we presented a system for photorealistic rendering Slovenian landscape with 1 m sized blocks. Just a while ago two of our students contacted us if they could connect to our data provider for generating Slovenia Minecraft world. While the world of Slovenia is still generating the city of Ljubljana has mostly finished generating and can host users in spectator mode.

You can find out more about the project and on how to dive into the blocky world of Slovenia in Minecraft here.

Presenting project Slovenia from block to primary school pupils

For the second-year Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana has collaborated with Museum of Post and Telecommunications in organising an event Days of Computer Science.

The event is organized to bring the Computer Science closer to youngsters in primary and secondary schools by presenting interesting demo projects. Such projects show us that Computer Science is much more than just coding infinite lines of code, but that it is also a creative science which can interact with many different scientific fields.
